My Novelty Labs LLC ("My Novelty Labs LLC," "we," "us," or "our") operates BugChute, a Chrome extension and backend service that lets QA testers and teams capture bug reports — screenshots, screen recordings, annotations, and page diagnostics — and file them directly into the team's own issue tracker (GitHub or Linear). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how it's used, and — importantly — what we deliberately do not collect or store.
When you create an account, we collect your name and email address. This is used for authentication, billing, and product communications.
To file issues on your behalf, we store the access credentials for the issue tracker(s) you connect (GitHub or Linear). Credentials are encrypted at rest and used solely to authenticate to your tracker's API when creating or updating issues you initiate.
We store the configuration you set up for each project — for example, the connected tracker, target repository/team/board, website URL, and any guest-reporting share links you create.
We store your subscription plan and status (e.g., trialing, active, canceled) so the product can enforce plan limits. Payment processing itself is handled by Stripe — see Section 5.
When you or a guest reporter files a bug report, the following may be captured and transmitted directly to your connected issue tracker as part of the issue we create there:
We do not persist this content on our servers once it has been delivered to your tracker. We retain only minimal operational metadata about each report: an internal issue id, the resulting tracker URL and/or issue number, the issue title, and timestamps (created/updated). This lets your dashboard show a history of reports without us holding a copy of their contents.
If a project has no tracker connected, report content is held only long enough for you to connect a tracker or export it, and is not used for any purpose other than delivering it to you.
The BugChute Chrome extension requests permissions to capture the current tab's screenshot, DOM, console output, and network activity, and — for screen recordings — your screen, each time you actively trigger a capture. Specifically:
Limited use. Data captured by the extension is used only to create the bug report you asked for, and is sent only to the issue tracker you have connected (via our relay, as described above). We do not sell this data, and we do not use it for advertising, and we do not use it to train AI or machine-learning models. Access to this data is limited to what is necessary to operate, maintain, and improve BugChute's core reporting functionality, and to comply with applicable law.
We use a small number of service providers to operate BugChute. We do not use any AI or machine-learning provider to process your bug-report content in this version of the product.

Your issue tracker (GitHub or Linear) is not our sub-processor — it is a service you independently control, and report content is delivered there under your own account and that provider's terms.
We use only the minimal, essential cookies/local storage needed to keep you signed in and to remember basic preferences. We do not use advertising trackers, cross-site ad pixels, or sell data to data brokers or advertisers.
We retain account information, tracker credentials, project configuration, and issue metadata (Section 3) for as long as your account is active. As explained above, we do not retain bug-report content itself once it has been relayed to your tracker. If you delete your account, or request deletion by emailing us, we will delete your account data, disconnect and remove stored tracker credentials, and remove issue metadata within a reasonable period, except where we must retain limited records to comply with law (e.g., tax/billing records).
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy (export) of your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email support@bugchute.com. We will verify your request and respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. You may request full account and data deletion at any time.
BugChute is a developer/QA tool intended for business use and is not directed at, or intended for use by, children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.
We use industry-standard safeguards to protect the information we do store, including encryption at rest for issue-tracker credentials and encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) for data sent to and from our servers. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Our infrastructure providers may process data in the United States or other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers of personal data.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice (such as email or an in-app notice).
